Lesson in superlatives for my little S

I think Laura is going through another stretching spurt. She tells me she's hungry close to fifty times a day. I truly wish I were exaggerating. Today, after being told repeatedly, "We'll have lunch at lunchtime; you can wait until then," she finally said, "Is it lunchtime yet? I'm starving!!" I laughed. "Starving means that you're about to die because you're so hungry. Are you about to die?" She thought about it a minute. "No." "Then you can say that you're very hungry, but not starving." "Is it lunchtime yet? I'm VERY hungry." "Heh. Half an hour more." She is such an S. Like her mother.
