Homophones

Keith: Ech!
LadyBug: What?
K: He shot himself with a pellet gun!
LB: With a pelican?
K: Ha! That's a funny image, but no.A pellet GUN, like a bb-gun.
LB: Like...your mom?
K: Ha! No, not like Bibi.

The Giggles

Since Bibi (Daddy's mom) is currently here in the States, the kids are spending lots of time giggling. They love their Bibi very, very much. You can watch a video of this phenomenon at: https://plus.google.com/104333889073529231968/posts/ZWTpx211WS9

Sloppy reading

Laura is super smart. But she's too full of energy and life to spent more than five minutes doing anything. This boundless energy affects her reading as much as anything else. If she gets the first couple letters of a word down, then she'll guess the rest of the word based on the pictures. I've been covering up a lot of pictures lately. Sometimes, the results are funny enough that I have a hard time reminding her of the rules.

According to Laura, this page of her custom book says:
"Bibi lifts the red bus." I laughed for a good ten minutes.

Who we love

L: Where we going now?
A: To meet someone you love.
L: Babu and Bibi?!
A: Aww. No. They're still in Africa; we're meeting someone else.
L: Bobbie?
A: No, not Bobbie.
L: Grammy?
A: Yep!
L: We are going to Grammy's house?
A: No, we're meeting her somewhere. *pulls into McD's.*
L: We are meeting her here?
A: Yes.
L: I love Grammy. Can I have chicken nuggets?
A: Yes.

A family concert and dinner, April 2011

Today, as we were driving, a Vocal Majority song came up in the playlist. It's one that SMA often sings, and Karen immediately said, "Dis Daddy's song!" Laura then added: "Yes, and Babu's. He went with us. And Bibi. And this song is so pretty in the church. And there were flowers. And we ate dinner, and I almost fall off my chair. And we all clapped, except Daddy, because he was playing the guitar." Laura's got an incredible memory for details...
