Run, Forrest, Run!

LadyBug ran into my room: "I need to run as fast as I can!"
Why?
"Because I'm the Gingerbread Man!"
Ah.

On Shaving

LadyBug: Daddy, why do you have a beard?
K: Well, hair just grows on my face. And Mommy likes it.
LB: Oh. Grammy must like Grandad bald, then.

LPGA 2016

Keith was given a week-long pass from one of our friends who works the LPGA Tour when it comes to Northwest Arkansas. He was able to take each of the kids for a day to play in the KidZone and watch some incredible women golfers.

Frog spent the most time, following Daddy (and Stacey Lewis) all over the course. LadyBug had a lot of fun in the KidZone playing. Monkey enjoyed the ice cream afterwards the most.

Homophones

Keith: Ech!
LadyBug: What?
K: He shot himself with a pellet gun!
LB: With a pelican?
K: Ha! That's a funny image, but no.A pellet GUN, like a bb-gun.
LB: Like...your mom?
K: Ha! No, not like Bibi.

Introducing: Little Turtle!

The kids finally got to meet their first cousin, Little Turtle for the first time yesterday. They all declared her "good." And then LadyBug carried around her baby doll, renamed after her cousin, for the rest of the day.

Lego Destructions

Anyone who knows the Wigginses will not be shocked by the fact that Keith likes to follow the instructions to build what those pieces were intended to build. While Adriel likes to use her imagination and build something new.

So watching our kids play with their first Lego sets (yeah, yeah, I know. They should have had Legos ages ago) is very interesting. Frog says, "Where are the destructions? I need the destructions!" LadyBug says, "No, we can figure it out." And Monkey just starts putting things together in whichever way he wants. This is a perfect summation of their personalities.

Kindergarten Graduation

Tonight, LadyBug graduated from Kindergarten. It was a very fun ceremony.

LadyBug got to tell us about the classroom pets: https://youtu.be/s8Vm_99R_uo

And the whole class sang us a song about kindergarten:

Then LadyBug got her diploma:

And though we didn't stick around for the reception because LadyBug was very sick today, she did get a present from Grandad, Grammy, Aunt Zina, and Uncle Paul and Aunt Shelly:

Plus, once she's feeling better, then she gets to pick out a Bible Case from Mommy and Daddy.

Sharing is Caring

LadyBug and Monkey are taking turns picking what they watch.

LadyBug: It's your turn.
Monkey: What you want?
LadyBug: What do I want? No, it's your turn.
Monkey: Me know. But what you want?

They melt my heart when they're like this.

AWANA Awards

This year, Monkey was in Cubbies.

LadyBug was in Sparks.

And Frog completed Sparks, so she'll be in TNT next year.

Another successful year of AWANA under our belt!

Mixed Up

My kids... ::facepalm:: They got their clothes piles mixed up this morning. Frog (size 10) put on LadyBug's pants and shirt. LadyBug (size 6-7) put on Monkey's pants and Frog's shirt. Monkey (size 5) put on Frog's shorts and his shirt. Frog's shorts looked like saggy pants on him. The girls both had high waters.

And they were dead serious. I had to tell them they were all in the wrong size.

Terra Studios

LadyBug's kindergarten class went to Terra Studios today. Since it happened to be Daddy's day off, he got to go with us, while I drove the bus. They class all seemed to enjoy the grounds a lot. They did excellently in the pinch pot class and watching the glass blowers making blue birds. LadyBug has decided she wants a pink bird, so she's saving up her money now.

Here's her tea party with Daddy near the Terran Village:

Zoo Tornado

The kids are playing a game wherein a tornado hit a zoo and scattered the animals all over the place. They're returning all of the animals to their cages. The most common animals are the dirty clothes animals. But the shoe animals seems to have multiplied during the tornado. While the book animals and toy animals seem to have all been killed or have run away.

Really, I don't care what game they make up to clean their room as long as it gets cleaned. But this may be the oddest clean up game ever.

Adventures with my ColorBlind Family

Minnie Mouse: This bow is a mood bow. It changes colors for what mood you're in.
Daisy: Ooh! Let me try! Donald, do something to make me mad...What color is the bow?
LadyBug and Monkey together: Red!
Daisy: Right! Red. Donald, do something to make me sad...What color is the bow now?
LadyBug and Monkey together: Purple!
Daisy: Right! Blue! Donald, do something to make me happy!

I couldn't stop laughing for about five minutes.

Tom Hardin's granddaughters

Frog is "fixing the roof," while LadyBug hands her tools.

When did they get so tall?

Aspirations

My kids are playing "Sonic." This is where they pretend to be skating carhops. This despite the fact that they've never seen a real carhop skate. They've only seen the recruiting posters with carhops with skate-shod feet. But they're doing excellent "skate" shows between asking me if I want tater tots with my owl cake.

Punny Girls

Frog (8yo): It's Hotel Pennsylvania in the dark hallway!
LadyBug (5yo): It's TRANSylvania, not PENNsylvania!
Frog: No, Pencil-vania! It's full of pencils!

Problem Solver

The sun was in her eyes. So she solved the problem. And then promptly fell asleep. I guess helping Aunt Shelly get the nursery ready was exhausting.

Tura Lura Lura

Last night, Aunt Z told me about a time several years ago that she sang a lullaby to my girls. As she sang "Tura lura lura, Tura lura, lural," the girls asked her, "What about Karen?" So, she sang "Tura kara Karen, Tura kara Karen." Of course, when Z told me this last night, we had to look up what "Tura lura lura" meant. Since it's just random rhyming syllables, we decided that "Tura kara Karen" is an appropriate change.
