Happy fifth birthday, Little Bug

Little Bug turned five today. According to Little Monkey, today was also his birthday and he's five. 

Her princess collection expanded quite a bit and she got a puppy purse from Aunt Shelly and Uncle Paul (she's been wanting a purse for a while). She chose chicken Parmesan, green beans, carrots, "plain" bread (rather than garlic or cheesy) and pink cake. And it was certainly pink.

Grammy gave Frog a birthday party at the local boutique Vintage Violet. For a while now, our family has loved this boutique. Aunt Zizi loves the clothes, I love the jewelry, and Grammy loves the hats. Frog and Bug just love all the sparkly.

The Secret

Frog's birthday is coming up soon. Since it's her first grade birthday, she gets a party. Grammy has arranged for a party at one of our local boutiques who does princess dress up parties where the kids get to take home the flower headbands, tutus, and jewelry they make while there. Perfect party for my Frog. 

Grammy asked when Little Bug was in the room, "Did you tell her what my birthday present for her is, or did you just invite people?" I just invited people. Bug piped up, "What did you get her? I want to know! Tell me!" Are you going to tell her? "Noooo..." Then what are you going to do with the information? "Hide it in my inside." Grammy and I burst out laughing.  Sher cajoling manner was way too adorable. She will definitely be keeping me on my toes in the future.

Two Year Old Monkey

Happy two year birthday, Baby Davy. He loves climbing, super heroes, the Razorbacks, balls, and his Daddy. His birthday covered all the bases thoroughly. He was very satisfied.

In her bedtime prayers, Karen just prayed, "Hep me has a good burfday party."

Too bad she's not actually having a birthday party.

Laura's birthday weekend

Laura had a great birthday weekend. On Friday, the preschool classes went to Farmland Adventure. Laura's class had mini cupcakes as part of their snack. 

Then, on Saturday, Laura's birthday, we had a full day. We began with everyone piling in Mommy and Daddy's bed and we had tickle fights. We have decided that instead of birthday spankings, we would have birthday tickle fests instead. 

Then, after eating the requested Mac&Cheese (with mommy required tuba added), we went to the Happy Birthday, Bob and Larry VT show. Laura thought this was a great birthday surprise. 

After that, Laura took a bike ride with Daddy while the little kids took a nap. Then, Daddy took Laura on a dinner date to FunCity. 

She won 1,000 tickets on one game, and 436 on other games. She rode lots of rides, and even got a hole in one on the mini golf course.

She got a purple and pink unicorn pillow pet and a monkey that does a backflip.

Then, on Sunday, we had her birthday lunch at Grammy's house. She ordered meat, cooked carrots, broccoli, and three different desserts. 

She wanted the L piece all to herself.

She got the Mandie books (1-20) from Grammy.

Happy birthday, Uncle Ethan

L: Where are we going?

A: To the cemetery to have a picnic with Uncle Ethan.

L: Is today his birthday?

A: Yes. That's why we are having lunch there.

L: But how can we give him presents if he's dead?

A: We are giving him flowers and a flag for his gravestone.

L: He likes guns better than flowers. But can I draw him a picture?

A: (giggling) Yes, we can leave a picture there for him.

The Birthday List

Every year, a couple weeks before Laura's birthday, I ask her what she wants for her birthday gift and to eat for her birthday dinner. This conversation is always highly amusing to me, and I look forward to it every year. I'm sorry I have not previously blogged each of these conversations. 

For her sixth birthday, Laura wants:

1. a Princess Babydoll. Like the Cinderella one.

2. A pretend pet doggy.

3. A new jewry...a bracelet.

4. And she says she wants to share one of her presents with Karen, so can she have a pink bottle. :-)

Don't bother adjusting your screen. Karen's birthday cake is strawberry with strawberry filling and hot pink vanilla icing with hot pink sprinkles. This is what happens when you walk down the baking aisle and let a three year old pick out her own birthday cake.

After this picture, Laura happily rode her bike for hours. Apparently, the helmet had a sharp piece in it. As input her to bed tonight, she asked me if she could ride her bike all day tomorrow.
