Speech Impediments are funny.

_My brother watched my kids this morning so that we three sisters could go to yoga together. When we got back, this is the story he told me:_

So, I learned the hard way. [Little Bug] said, "Tetch!" I was like, "What?!" "Tetch!!" Then she threw her doll and hit me in the head. "I _said,_ 'Tetch'!!" "I don't know what that _means!_

Monkey got a head shave today. Now he is twinkles with Grandad and Uncle Paul!

They might be slightly more thrilled about this than he is.

No, we love you...

Uncle Paul: This is my spot; move over.
KJ: No! You can't sleep with us!
P: Don't you love me? **fake tears*
KJ: No, we love you! But we don't want you to sleep with us!

Teasing

KJ: Who these for?
A: People.
L: Us?
A: No. Other people. I don't buy presents for you, only other people.
L: Are you teasing?
A: What do you think?
L: Yes. I always know when someone is teasing me because I hear it.
A: In their voice?
L: Yes. Especially Daddy.
A: Daddy likes to tease you, huh?
L: Yep. And Grandad. And Uncle Paul.
A: Yep. Do you like to teased?
L: No. Actually, I do! Ok. Tease me.
A: Haha. No. I'm never going to tease you again.
KJ: Why no?
A: Just to tease her.
L: I knew you were teasing me!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thursday, the Hardins, Adairs, and Sunny came to our house. The kids charmed all of their relatives and we all ate way too much. Unfortunately, the only pictures I have are of food because no one took any pictures of people. (But notice Keith's swan/duck apples.)

Friday, Uncle Chris and Aunt Brenda came for lunch, and then we ended up at the Hardin house in the evening. The kids didn't seem to overload on aunts and uncles, so that's good. Chris, Keith, and I have started a campaign to get Brenda to want to "retire" here in NWA, and I played the strongest card: nieces and nephew. We went to the Jones Center playground to take family pictures, then ended up at Chris's favorite restaurant: AQ.
At the Hardin house, Uncle Paul caught Karen sucking her thumb, so he told her that his thumb tasted better. He spent maybe five minutes trying to convince her that she needed to try his thumb to see just how good it was. She finally came and put his thumb in her mouth!! And immediately bit him. Then, Aunt Zina said hers tasted better, so Karen tried it. In the end, Karen decided that Zina's and Karen's tasted the best, but not Paul's. Eww.

Maybe, Saturday, we'll sleep in and take long naps and just rest. Somehow, though, I suspect that won't happen.

Paul better get on it.

A: So, we're going to go have lunch with Miss Danyella today.
L: Do I know Miss Yella?
A: Uh... No. Probably not.
L: But who is she?
A: Uncle Paul's friend from high school, and now she's my friend.
L: And still Uncle Paul's?
A: Yes.
L: And he loves her?
A: Like a friend, yes. Not...romantically.
L: Is Uncle Paul going to get married someday?
A: Probably.
L: Well, I like my aunts Zina and Brenda. I want another one.
A: You're killing me, Smalls.
L: What?
A: Never mind. Finish your breakfast then clean your place off, please.
L: Then dressed?
A: Yes, please.
L: What color does Yella like?
A: You should be fine wearing pink. Why, do you want to impress her?
L: Is she pretty?
A: Yes.
L: Like a princess?
A: Yes.
L: Uncle Paul should marry her.
A: No. They're friends. And she has a boyfriend.
L: Oh. Are they going to get married?
A: Probably.
L: Can we go to the wedding and see her dressed like a princess?
A: Yes. Please eat now.
L: I want to get married and be a princess...
A: *sigh**

Under Where?

Paul: Look under there.
Laura: Where?
Paul: Under there.
Laura: Where?
Paul: You have to say "under" too. Look under there.
Laura: Under what?
Paul: Under there.
Laura: Under there?
Paul: Look under there.
Laura: Where?
Paul: It makes me think she knows and is messing with me. But I know she doesn't. Look under there.
Laura: Where?!
Paul: You have to say "under" too.
Laura: Why?
Paul: It's a joke. Look under there.
Laura: Under there?
Paul: Hey, Karen, look under there.
Karen: Under here?
Paul: I give up.

Learning about rhyming.

Karen: Bob! Es Bob!
Laura: Bob, ball, Bob, ball.
Adriel: Did you hear how the beginnings sound the same, but the ends sound different? BoB, baLL?
Laura: I like Uncle Paul. He's so creepy, I kiss him!
Adriel: Yes, Paul does rhyme with ball, doesn't it?
